Trijntje Jelsma

Trijntje de Jong-Jelsma (1932 or 1933 — 5 March 1973) was a Dutch kortebaan speed skater, who was active at the end of the 1940s and 1950s.

Career

As a girl she won one of her first competitions in January 1946; in her home town Luxwoude.[1] She became champion of Heerenveen in the winter of 1947-48.[2][3][4][5] She won many competitions and prizes in the winters of 1949-50 and 1950-51.[6][7][8][9]

Personal

Jelsma was grown up in Luxwoude. She married with P. de Jong. They got two sons: Rein Theo and Simon Jan. They lived in Langezwaag. Due to an illness, De Jong-Jelsma died at the hospital in Heerenveen on 5 March 1974, aged 40.[10]
