- 29 – Lia released her first album in seven years Family Album.
February
- 5 – Foo Fighters released their first album in four years, Medicine at Midnight.
- 7 – Eric Church and Jazmine Sullivan performed the national anthem, and The Weeknd performed the halftime show during Super Bowl LV at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
- 12 – Jillette Johnson will release her first album in four years, It's A Beautiful Day And I Love You.
- 26 – Julien Baker will release her first album in four years, Little Oblivions.
- – NOFX will release their first album in five years, Single Album.
March
- 5 – Tigers Jaw will release their first album in four years, I Won't Care How You Remember Me.
- – A Day to Remember will release their first album in five years, You're Welcome.
- – Chevelle will release their first album in five years, Niratias.
- – Kings of Leon will release their first album in five years, When You See Yourself.
- – The Spill Canvas will release their first album in nine years, Conduit.
- 12 – Rob Zombie will release his first album in five years, The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy.
- Robin Thicke released his first album in seven years, On Earth, and in Heaven.
- 14 – The 63rd Annual Grammy Awards will take place. The Awards were originally scheduled for January 31 at the Staples Center but were pushed back due to escalating COVID-19 cases and health concerns in Los Angeles County.[1][2]
- 26 – Evanescence will release their first album in four years and their first of all-original material in ten years, The Bitter Truth.
- – Liquid Tension Experiment will release their first album in 22 years, Liquid Tension Experiment 3.
- – Tomahawk will release their first album in eight years, Tonic Immobility.
- 31 – The Industrial Strength Tour, featuring Ministry, KMFDM and Front Line Assembly, will begin at the Showbox Sodo in Seattle, Washington; the tour was initially scheduled to take place in the summer of 2020 but was postponed to this spring, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[3][4]
April
- 16 – SHAED will release their first full-length album in five years, No Other Way.
- – Cannibal Corpse will release their first album in four years, Violence Unimagined.
- 23 – Porter Robinson will release his first album in seven years, Nurture.
- 30 – Flotsam and Jetsam will begin their Demolition of North America tour at the Club Red in Tempe, Arizona; this tour had previously been postponed from 2020 to this year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A new album is expected to coincide with the tour.[5]
June
- 3 – After a one-year postponement, Rage Against the Machine will begin their first full-length tour in over 20 years at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, Texas.[6]
- 19 – The Stadium Tour, featuring Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, will begin at the Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee; due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the tour was postponed to this summer, originally set to take place in summer 2020.[7]
July
- 17 – Kiss will play its last-show ever in their hometown of New York City, where they had formed 48 years earlier.[8]
