History

Chhatari was a jagir during British India. It was owned by Nawabs of Lalkhani, a Badgujar Rajput community.[1][2]

There are two nationalized bank, one degree college, a sub post office and also have an aggro-products trading center for farmers residing near town.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[4] Chhatari had a population of 15786. Males constitute 54% of the population and females 4%. Chhatari has an average literacy rate of 10%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with male literacy of 10% and female literacy of 10%. 19% of the population is under 6 years of age.
