Racism by country

The article describes the state of race relations and racism in a number of countries.

Various forms of racism are practiced in most countries on Earth.[1] In individual countries, the forms of racism which are practiced may be motivated by historic, cultural, religious, economic or demographic reasons. Wars created sentiments of ultra-nationalism, ethnic pride and racism.

Racism is widely condemned throughout the world, with 88 states being signatories of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination as of 7 March 2013.[2]

After the Opium Wars in China, a nationalist feeling which was linked with race surged in popularity and it was motivated by the desire to fight against foreign influence and control, along with the desire to ensure that the majority of the population of China would only be of Chinese origin.[3]
