As-Salam as-Sultani

"as-Salâm as-Solṭâni" (Arabic: السلام السلطاني‎, meaning 'Salute to The Sultan') is Oman's national anthem; it is an ode originally dedicated to Qâbus ben-Saʿyed (1940–2020), the former Sultan of Oman.[1][2][3]

Qâbus ben-Saʿyed ʾâl-Saʿyed (1940–2020), the Sultan of Oman, whom the song was originally dedicated to.

History

"as-Salâm as-Solṭâni" was written by the poet Rashid bin Uzayyiz Al Khusaidi. The music for it was composed at the request of Muscat's government by James Frederick Mills, a Briton, in December 1932.[4][5]

Sultan Hayþam ben-Ṭâreq issued a decree to remove the name of His Predecessor Qâbus from the national anthem.[7]
