Casate is one of the 44 barangays of the municipality of Ubay, in the province of Bohol, Philippines.

The barangay's total land area is 460 hectares (1,100 acres).[3] According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 2,661.[1]

Casate celebrates its annual fiesta on 5 April in honor of their patron saint.

Location

Casate is situated southwest of the town center, Poblacion. It is bounded to the north by Tapon, to the east by Bood, to the west by Camambugan, and to the south by Bayang and Calanggaman.

There are seven puroks overseen by the elected kagawads.

History

The name the place came from the Spanish phrase ¡Casate conmigo! which means marry me. Casate was once part of Camambugan before it became an independent barangay.
