Vlad Voiculescu

Vlad Vasile Voiculescu (born 6 September 1983, Brănești, Dâmbovița, România) is an economist and an ex-minister of health for the Cioloș Cabinet.[1] He is currently serving as Minister for Health in the Cîțu Cabinet.

Career

Vlad is known as one of the founders of Magicamp, along with the journalist Melania Medeleanu.[2] Magicamp started as a campaign for kids sick of cancer and offers free services for booking the patients and their families.[3] The donations consisted of materials whose value is over 3 millions of euro.[4]

Vlad Voiculescu is known that he sorted the „Rețeaua Citostaticelor” (Cytostatics Network),[5] an unofficial mechanism (but legal) of supplying meds for patients of cancer in Romania through parallel proceedings with official methods that are bureaucratic.[6] Those organizations has been the subject in the Rețeaua (Network) document, by Claudiu Mitcu.[7]

Politics

In 2018, Vlad Voiculescu is the co-founder of Mișcarea România Împreună (Move Romania Together) organization, political move founded by the ex-premier Dacian Cioloș. Vlad Voiculescu announced his candidateship to the following elections of the 2020 for the city hall of Bucharest.[8]

In December 2018, he became a member of Freedom, Unity and Solidarity Party (PLUS). On 1 August 2019 is designated by PLUS candidate at the Bucharest City Hall.[9] On 28 February 2020 he withdrew his candidacy.[10]

In December 2020, he was nominated to be part of the Cîțu Government, as the Minister of Health.
